Sister Anselma Beirne
Sister Anselma Beirne, Finisclin. Kingsland N.S. 1921-1928. She entered St. Mary's Convent Rochampton, London (Poor Servants of the Mother of God) in 1936. She was professed there and started her nursing career in St. Helen's, Lancashire.
From there she went to Greenvant and Corston and aper a short stay there went to Bristol to perfect her skills in the Surgical Field. In 1951 she returned to Ireland and spent almost twenty years at St. Colmkilles Hospital, Loughlinstown St. Colmcille Hospital, Loughlinstown. Finally to St. Joseph's Portland Row, where she spent all her time devoted to the old.
